Pajant is a 51ft trad. style narrow boat built in 1993 by John Shotbolts at Ramsey on the Middle Level. She was fitted out by Gordon Lumsden and is designed for extended cruising for three people. She is fitted with a Beta engine and has a 24-volt supply for lighting, fridge, pumps etc. The original paint finish did not last, the only major criticism we have with her build, and so she was completely repainted by Adelaide Marine in 1998.

Pajant normally carries a crew of four, Janine, Paul their son Thomas and a collie named Sophie. This is where the name Pajant comes from Paul Janine Thomas. We have been regular visitors to the London Canal Way Cavalcade and won the trophy for the best decorated boat in 1998 when Pajant changed into the TITANIC for the day.

After six months at Ramsey we moved her to Rickmansworth and then to Ponders End on the River Lee. We have been able to carry out several long trips in her over the years and have visited Cambridge, Chester, Anglesey Basin on the BCN and Bishop Stortford to name but a few. We intend to find another mooring in the autumn of 1999.
